Introduction

Care Cloud has an eMAR Module which can be used to:

  1. record the medicines that have been prescribed to a Person
  2. set up the routine for the prescribed medicines
  3. record the administration of medicines in the Care Cloud Mobile App
  4. audit the administration of medicines using the Electronic MAR Chart

MAR Schedules

The schedule can be created in the Person > Care Plan > MAR Schedules area of the System.

Once a schedule has been made it will create Diary Records and become read only. To change a schedule enter an 'End Date' to the current schedule and then create a new one.

If "Period of Time" is to be used instead of "Time" for the "Select Time or Period of Time for Medication to be Given" then the "Medication Periods" Reference Table should be populated with your preferred periods of time, as per the example below. The Start Time and End Times within this are used to advise when the next Dose is due in the Mobile App:

Medication Diary

From this screen you can see a record of what is coming and what has already occurred. The Medication Diary is automatically created based on the MAR Schedule. There are no options to Edit or Create New within the Diary, as this information should be created in the MAR Schedule screen.

Mobile App

The Administration of Medications is recorded in the Care Cloud Mobile App. When a User logs in into the Mobile App and starts a booking they will see a Medication tab, which will display the above Medication Diary records. Icons are displayed to indicate if a medication is PRN or a controlled drug.

An entry can be completed for each Medication Diary record to indicate that the Medicine was either:

  • given as prescribed,
  • given with a different dose to that prescribed, or
  • not given.

A Body Map may also be added to indicate where a medication has been administered, e.g. for cutaneous applications.

For clinical safety, only medications that have been recorded in the MAR Schedule can be administered in the Mobile App.

MAR Chart

The MAR Chart can be used to review the Medications for a Person over a period of time. The screen is interactive; clicking on an icon will take you to the Medications Administered record that was created via the Mobile App. From there you can add Audit Notes to record any additional information required, such as actions taken based on the Medication not being administered.
