Creating an About Me Record

Mohammed Jamal Updated by Mohammed Jamal

The About Me feature allows you to create an About Me record for a Person (Care Receiver), capturing their personal preferences and story. The information structure being captured is based on the PRSB About Me standard, which you can find out more about here.

About Me records are created and accessed from the Person record in the following way:

  1. Navigate to People > People > People We Support.
  2. Locate and open a Person record.
  3. Select the About Me tab. The 'About Me' page is displayed:

  1.  When first creating the record, a number of general data items must be completed:

  1. Each section below the General section contains a number of panels to capture information aligned with the PRSB About Me data standard:
  • Information: Read-only local guidelines that can be customised with the About Me Setup by System Admins.
  • My Story: Free text entry.
  • My Recorded Story: Media upload to capture the Person's preferences in their own voice. Files can be dragged and dropped onto the panel, or they can be selected via the cloud icon and using the file explorer to add the file.

If a media file has been successfully uploaded to the My Recorded Story panel, additional media controls will become available including:

  • Play/Pause
  • Full screen
  • Bin icon: removes the uploaded media file from the panel.

About Me records can be completed over time, but there may also be circumstances where a snapshot of information at a certain time needs to be captured ahead of updates to the record. A number of save options are available to support this:

Save Option

Description

The Save button will update and overwrite the current record with any changes.

The Save & Archive button will record a separate snapshot of the current record for future reference, allowing overwriting changes to be made without losing current information.

To see how you access archived About Me record, see the Archived About Me Records article.

  1. Select the Save or Save & Archive button on the toolbar.
