Changing the Owning User of an Advanced Search

Mohammed Jamal Updated by Mohammed Jamal

The User Advanced Searches page automatically captures every Advanced Search that is saved by a System User in your organisation. This allows System Administrators to redeploy the Advanced Search if the owning user is no longer with the organisation or is temporarily unavailable.

To access User Advanced Searches:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Views & Dashboards > User Advanced Searches. The 'User Advanced Searches' page is displayed.
  2. Select a record to view details of the Advanced Search. The 'User Advanced Search' record page is displayed:

  1. Change the Name of the Advanced Search View if desired. The Record Type cannot be changed.
  2. Change the Owning User to a different System User. The original user is the System User who created the Advanced Search.
This value gives you flexibility to keep access to Advanced Search Views that may otherwise be lost if a System User, for example, is on long term leave or has left the organisation.
  1. The Inactive field is set to No which indicates the Advanced Search is visible in the system. Change the radio button to Yes if you want to hide the Advanced Search from users within the system.
This might mean it is only visible to the Owning User who created it and against anyone it's been shared to.
  2. The Linked To Persona(s) field allows you to make the Advanced Search View available to those who has the Persona selected here attached to their record. You can select multiple Personas in this field.
  3. Select the Save or Save and Close button on the toolbar.
