Adding Widgets to a System Dashboard

Once a System Dashboard is created, the Dashboard tab appears, allowing you to begin adding data-displaying widgets.

To add widgets your dashboard:

  1. Open the System Dashboard record.
  2. Select the Dashboard tab.
  3. Select the Toggle Edit button on the toolbar.

Additional buttons are now visible on the toolbar. These are described in the table below.

Button

Description

New Dashboard

Allows you to add a pre-defined Dashboard Layout from the following options:

  • 3-Column Regular Dashboard
  • 3-Column Multi-Focused Dashboard
  • 4-Column Overview Dashboard
  • 2-Column Regular Dashboard
  • 3-Column Overview Dashboard
  • 3-Column Focused Dashboard
  • 4-Column Regular Dashboard

Add Widget

Adds a new widget tile on the design space.

Save

Saves the dashboard design.

Dashboard Settings

Allows you to change specific fields from the Details, including:

  • Dashboard Name
  • Set as default dashboard
  • Auto Refresh
  • Enable Date Filter

Toggle Edit

Takes you out of the design/edit view.

  1. Select the Add Widget button. This will add a 'New widget' tile on the page as follows:

  1. Use the double arrow to drag and expand the size of the widget as desired, or reposition the whole widget to the desired position, using your mouse cursor.
  2. Select the Settings button that appears on the widget. The 'Widget Settings' dialog is displayed:

  1. Select a Widget Type using the drop-down, additional fields are displayed for each type within the dialog:

The following options are available:

  • Chart view of Care Cloud records
  • Grid View of Care Cloud records
  • IFrame: Internal/External HTML website
  • List View of Care Cloud records
  • Report contained within Care Cloud
  • Widget: An existing HTML resource from the Widget Catalogue.
  • Navigation Widget
  • Bookmarks

ALL

Record Type

Type of record that is displayed in the widget. For example, People and System Users.

Grid View

List View

Chart

The chart that will be displayed in the Dashboard. Only Charts that are created for the selected Record Type are available for selection.

View

The Advanced Search View that will be used in the Dashboard depending on the Record Type selected. Only Views that are created for the selected Record Type are available for selection. By default, actions associated with the view, such as creating or exporting, are also displayed in the widget.

List View

Full IFrame URL

An internal or external HTML web page. If the environment is “https” then this should be included in the URL field.

A report contained within Care Cloud.

An existing HTML resource from the Widget Catalogue. Only Widgets that are not created for a specific Record Type are available for selection.

View Only

Only displays for the Grid View and List View Widget Types.

This will display the output results in a Grid or List view format and will not allow the user to edit the information.

Hide Header

Hides the title of the Widget if one is provided.

Full Size

Displays the View or Widget as a full-size item on the page.

Hide New Button

Prevents users from being able to add new records, for example, prevents users from adding a new Person record.

Header Colour

Allows the header of the Widget to be defined with a colour.

Title of the widget displayed on screen.

  1. Select the Save Settings button.
  2. Select the Save button on the toolbar.
