The MAR Schedule can be created in the following way:

  1. Navigate to People > People > People We Support. The 'People We Support' page is displayed.
  2. Open the Person record. The 'Person' record page is displayed.
  3. Select the Care Plans tab.
  4. Select the MAR Schedules tab.

  1. Select the Create new record button.
  2. Complete the fields on the page, mandatory fields are marked with a red asterisk *.

Field

Description

Person*

Shows the Person the schedule is attached.

Route*

Some examples that appear in this field are:

  • Intravenous
  • Ocular
  • Oral

Medicine Location

When was the medication administered?

PRN? (Give As Required)*

Medication administered as and when needed, usually relating to prescriptions for short term or intermittent medical conditions i.e. it is not to be taken regularly.

Maximum Number of Doses in 24 hours

Some medication will have an upper limit on the number of doses.

Minimum time between doses (hours)

Some medication will have a minimum time requirement between doses.

Select Time or Period of Time for Medication to be Given*

You can select from the following values:

  • Time
  • Period of Time (in order to use this option, see the Medication Periods article for more information on setting up Medication Periods)

Select Time for Medication to be Given*

Some medication will require to be administered as specified times.

Last Run Date

Responsible Team*

The team responsible for managing the record.

Medicine*

The medicine to be administered can be selected from the list.

Dosage: (Please create separate schedules for each variable dose.)*

The number of doses for the medicine e.g. two tablet given at the same time.

If the dosage is different where some instance one tablet is administered instead of two, then another schedule should be created.

Instructions/Notes

This may be instructions on how to administer the medicine.

Is a Controlled Drug?*

Controlled drugs may required specific instructions on administering them.

Care Plan*

Select a Care Plan the medicine is associated to.

End Date

To change a schedule enter an End Date to the current schedule and then create a new one.

Inactive

Recurrence Pattern*

Recur every (x) Day*

Person Body Maps

  1. Select the Save and Close button.

Once the MAR Schedule has been created, it will create Medication Diary records and become read only.
