Minor Release - Release Notes

Travel Reimbursement Enhancement

Split Shift Management

What's New:

  1. Location Specific Split Shift Settings

New fields to the Provider:

  • Minimum Split Shift: specifies the minimum time between bookings before staff are considered to have gone home.
  • Maximum Split Shift: specifies the maximum time between bookings before staff are considered to have ended their shift triggering a new shift.
  • Both fields are numeric, with a range of 5-1440 minutes, and can be left blank. If blank, they default to the system settings.

The new fields will allow the user to control the time between bookings that would be considered a split shift or break time and the time between bookings that would be considered a new shift. This can now be controlled in the provider record enabling the user to have different settings per location/provider to meet employee contractual agreements.

  1. Travel Reimbursement Excluded Miles

New flag, Exclude Split Shift Commuting Miles? has been added to the Travel Reimbursement Rate.

This flag controls how commuting mileage exclusions are applied to split shifts:

  • Exclude Split Shift Commuting Miles = Yes
    • Excluded Miles will be deducted from ALL commuting journeys regardless of the split shift setting
  • Excluded Split Shift Commuting Miles = No
    • Excluded Miles will be deducted from the first and last journey within the shift and any split shift commutes will NOT deduct the excluded miles

The new flag gives greater control over how commuting travel is paid - this can be set using all of the parameters available on the Travel Reimbursement Rate so can be as specific as a single Employee Contract. This will allow users to manage individual contractual agreements or contractual agreements within individual locations/providers.
